VIVA GLAM Lipstick by MAC Still Makes a Bold Statement
The VIVA GLAM Fund was initially established by MAC’s
founders Frank Angelo and Frank Toskan in 1994. Back then, HIV/AIDS was stigmatized
as a “gay disease”, and the idea of donating 100% of the proceeds from the company’s
cosmetics lip products toward an HIV/AIDS cause was truly groundbreaking for
its time.
Today, MAC AIDS Fund is making a tremendous difference in
the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS by continuing its long-standing
tradition of donating 100% of its proceeds of the total VIVA GLAM lipstick and lipglass
sales. MAC AIDS Fund is currently supporting the UNAIDS Treatment 2015
initiative with a 2 million dollar grant. The goal of the initiative is to
provide adolescents and youth with HIV treatment and care on a global scale.
Aside from funding international work, MAC also funds
agencies in Canada.
To qualify for funding, the organization must be recognized as a charitable
organization by the local government, and provide services to those living with
HIV/AIDS.
